![]() Many of the contributors embody overlapping cultural diasporas that suggest the porousness of borders, challenging the field to understand itself as a product of regional art histories. A number of the essays perform, through a combination of recollected early memory alongside scholarly research, the roots of the theories they explore through publishing, curating and archival work. The stories you will read take various forms – a letter written to a friend, a revisioned grant application, the pastiche of image and text, children’s fables, interviews, co-authored narrative, memoir, manifesto, apology. The contributors respond in a multitude of surprising ways, appealing equally to people enmeshed in the field through their work and to those simply interested in the field. A particular feature of the collection is that there are twice as many contributions by women than by men. Each of the contributors in this book has provided short, often very personal, contributions describing how they began to become passionate about their practice. There is a special focus on gender, race (including Whiteness), class, sexuality and transnationality – all of which are often marginalized in dominant art histories. All tours are booked on request depending on availability.This anthology, Storytellers of Art Histories, gives voice to those who are reshaping art histories: not only art historians and curators, but also archivists and artists.Tours are approximately 30 minutes and include a Q&A with the guide.There is a eight-person minimum to schedule a tour and tours can accommodate up to 25 participants.Led by our resident “Swiftie,” private guided tours for groups visiting Taylor Swift: Storyteller are a deep dive into the pop artist’s music history and the iconic fashion choices that bring her songcraft to life. Swift has discussed the pressures that female musicians feel to constantly alter their public images, and regularly addresses gender norms in her videos, performances, and public appearances. Taylor’s emotional songwriting is the catalyst for the captivating worlds she brings to life on stage and screen through exquisitely crafted costumes, inventive stage design, and imaginative iconography. ![]() Concert attire by couture fashion houses are featured along with props, jewelry, ephemera, and projections of music videos rounding out the exhibition. H ighlights include the cheerleader and ballerina ensembles from the award-winning music video for “Shake It Off” (2014) the red wedding dress and bellhop uniform from “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault),” which featured Miles Teller and was directed by Blake Lively (2021) and the sparkling ensemble from “Bejeweled” (2022), directed by Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift: Storyteller is a career-spanning look at the artistic reinventions of the 12-time GRAMMY Award – winning artist who is one of the most prolific songwriters in history.
